Dr. Paige Hiney DC
Paige is originally from northern BC and was working down on Vancouver Island before making the move up to Smithers, she is thrilled to be able to call the north home again! She completed her chiropractic training in Portland, Oregon and prior to that had obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sport, Health and Physical Education and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. In between her schooling Paige had the opportunity to embark on many adventures including a three week road trip through the Maritimes, spending the majority of her time hiking and camping in Newfoundland. From there she went up to the Yukon, backpacking through Kluane National park and completing the Chilkoot Trail. Then onto Chile to complete the Torres Del Paine’s ‘O’ circuit in Patagonia and then spending a week in Argentina relaxing and exploring everything she could!
Paige’s active lifestyle is part of what drew her to chiropractics. She is passionate about holistic health and helping people return to doing what they love. While Paige enjoys treating patients of all ages, conditions, and backgrounds she has a special interest in biomechanics and gait as well as women’s health and nutrition. In practice Paige assesses and analyzes the needs of her patients using a whole-body approach and treats them by emphasizing healthy functional movement, manual and instrument assisted adjusting, and a variety of soft tissue techniques. She also utilizes patient education and at home exercise therapy and rehab to supplement her in office care and help patients reach their optimal level of health and functioning. Paige has also recently completed training in orthotics and is excited to be able to offer custom orthotics to Smithers and the surrounding area! Further certifications and diplomas that Paige has received include:
Return to Running & Rethinking Running Rehab
Essential Elements of Running & Mobility Fixes for Runners

Melissa Zarecki
Melissa takes a very holistic approach to her practice. From her previous and varied background (as a Kinesiologist, Exercise Physiologist, Registered Massage Therapist and Yoga Teacher), she has attained a great deal of knowledge about the human body. That knowledge continues to expand through practice and continuing education. Being an athlete herself, she understands the frustrations of being injured and the steps one must take to prevent injuries. Melissa believes that ailments of the body are not only physical but can lie at a much deeper level. Getting to the root of the issue allows for greater long-term results. Daily life and extracurricular pursuits can be stressful and have an impact on our physical and mental bodies.
Through specific and focused hands-on work, breathing practices and exercise prescription (aka homework!), Melissa’s clients have found great success in dealing with current issues and learning how to prevent future issues. Melissa utilizes the knowledge from her varied previous experiences and takes the necessary time to work with her clients in a way that will have them reaching their health-related goals. Melissa is very passionate about massage therapy, the human body and all the work that she does.
In Melissa’s spare time, she is very active. Melissa can be found cycling, fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, playing hockey, cooking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and camping.
